LATEST NEWS
2/24 - we FINALLY go public with the announcement of our race! (sorry it took so long)
2/26 - NOTE: a separate motorcycle event (hillclimb) will be happening the same day as our event. This means there will be big crowds and camping will likely be unavailable. Please look for signs for the separate entrance for our mountain bike event. If you're heading east to get to our race, the entrance will be before the main entrance. If you're heading west to get to our race, the entrance will be after the main entrance. Just keep in mind that there will be significant traffic so plan accordingly. You have been told.
3/4 - Don't forget that Saturday night/Sunday morning on race weekend is Daylight Savings Time. Make sure you spring forward, not fall back biatch.
3/21 - sponsors confirmed and posted.
3/27 & 3/28 - major course construction completed!!!
3/28 - entrance for our event is 1.2 miles after you get to the bottom of the hill (when heading east). It is 0.7 miles after the main entrance (when heading west). Look for the signs! If you for some reason want to bring a motorcycle in, you will be charged an entry fee.
3/30 - Camping will now be allowed (yeay!) in our event parking area for any of our volunteers, racers, spectators that want to stay in our parking lot area Saturday night (not Friday or Sunday) - this can extend a little bit beyond, but not more than a couple hundred yards. Once you're in the park and it closes, you can't get out (well, you can get out but you won't be able to get back in). ABSOLUTELY NO NIGHT RIDING!!! If anyone tries this they will be kicked out and DQ'ed. We are f'ing serious about this. Don't even think about it.
Speeding: the ONLY complaint that the Carnegie staff has about our previous events is people with bikes on their cars speeding down the gravel roads. The speed limit is 15mph. They may start ticketing people this year. Keep your speed down unless you want to make a donation to the State Park system. Please!
3/31 - SHUTTLES ON SATURDAY HAVE BEEN EXTENDED TO 10AM-4PM!!! So you folks that want to race at Sand Hill will have the opportunity to do so and still get some practice in at our course. Just don't hurt yourself at Sand Hill, okay? :)
